About the Opportunity
Based in Darwin, the STAS Case Manager, will provide intensive, culturally responsive case management and group work to young people aged 10–17 on statutory youth justice orders. You will work closely with Community Youth Justice Officers, families, and service providers to address criminogenic needs, build life skills, and support young people to understand the impact of their offending.
This role includes participation in a 24/7 on‑call roster and requires flexibility to work outside standard business hours.
About You
You are passionate about youth work, resilient in challenging situations, and skilled at building rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds. You bring a calm, professional approach to crisis situations and a commitment to culturally safe practice.
You will have:
- Qualifications in youth work, community services, social services or similar.
- Demonstrated experience working with high‑risk or vulnerable young people.
- Strong understanding of youth justice, child protection, and local service systems
- Experience in assessment, outreach, group work, and trauma‑informed practice
- Proven experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, staff and Aboriginal Controlled Organisations.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must provide 100 points of identification to confirm Australian citizenship or eligibility to work in Australia; possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a current National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a valid NT driver’s licence.
Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
