About the Opportunity
Note: This is a part time position (3 days per week)
In this newly created role, you will lead and coordinate the Northern Territory Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG). This innovative project ensures people with lived experience of homelessness directly shape policy and system reform across the NT.
Working in partnership with YWCA and the NT Government, you will:
- Establish and coordinate the NT Lived Experience Advisory Group
- Ensure strong representation across regions and diverse communities
- Create safe, respectful, trauma-informed spaces for participation
- Develop recruitment and promotional materials
- Build relationships with government, community, housing and regional stakeholders
- Support evaluation, reporting, communications and project documentation
- Provide high-level project and administrative support to the Strategy Team
This role is ideal for someone who excels in relationship-building, project coordination and collaborative, strengths-based work.
To be successful you will hold:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Development, Health Promotion or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience of trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred practice.
- Experience working with people with lived experience to identify, shape and advocate for systemic change.
- Experience, knowledge of the range of factors that can lead to homelessness
- Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
