About the Opportunity

In this role, you will work closely with our Senior Payroll Officer to provide highquality administrative and operational support across payroll and workforce compliance activities. Your work will help ensure our people are paid accurately, on time, and in line with relevant legislation and awards, while contributing to strong recordkeeping, continuous improvement of payroll processes, and a positive employee experience across our diverse organisation.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and an interest in payroll and HR to support meaningful work across the Northern Territory.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting payroll processing through accurate data entry and record maintenance
  • Assisting with timesheets, leave records, and employment variations
  • Responding to routine payroll and timesheet enquiries
  • Maintaining employee records and compliance documentation
  • Assisting with audits, reporting, and payroll reconciliations
  • Supporting onboarding documentation and workforce compliance registers
  • Contributing to payroll system documentation and improvements

To be successful you will have:

  • A qualification in business administration, payroll or HR and/or relevant administrative experience
  • Experience providing administrative support in a payroll or HR environment
  • An understanding of payroll processes and confidentiality requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Clear communication skills and a professional, supportive approach
  • A willingness to learn, follow procedures, and escalate issues appropriately
