About the Opportunity
In this role, you will provide strengths‑based, culturally safe mental health support, mentoring and care coordination to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people, many of whom experience barriers engaging with traditional services.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support young people and their families through flexible, youth‑friendly, and outreach‑based approaches. You will play a key role in reducing stigma, strengthening engagement, and improving access to mental health care for young people across Katherine and surrounding communities.
Note: This is a part time position (3 days per week)
What we’re looking for
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with strong community connections
- Certificate IV in Mental Health (or equivalent) or relevant experience in youth, health, education or community services
- Demonstrated ability to engage meaningfully with Aboriginal young people and families
- Experience (or strong interest) in outreach, care coordination and mental health support
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A hopeful, flexible, and solutions‑focused approach
