About the Opportunity

We’re seeking a Financial Counsellor (or Financial Counselling Worker currently completing their Diploma) to join our East Arnhem Money Support Hub in Nhulunbuy.

In this position, you will provide financial counselling, advocacy and practical support to individuals experiencing financial hardship, helping them regain control and build long-term financial wellbeing. The role includes regular travel to remote communities (approximately two weeks per month, with flexibility), offering variety and strong community connection.

About You

We’re open to candidates at different stages of their financial counselling career. You will bring:

  • Diploma of Financial Counselling (or currently working towards)
  • Experience in financial counselling, community services, or casework (highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of financial hardship and social disadvantage
  • Ability to build trust and engage with diverse communities
  • Well-developed communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to social justice and culturally respectful practice
