About the Opportunity
The Aboriginal Community Engagement Worker plays a vital role in strengthening youth engagement and participation, reducing stigma, and improving access to mental health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. You’ll coordinate culturally safe community engagement activities, build strong partnerships, and promote mental health literacy through events, media, and outreach.

About You
You identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and bring experience or a strong commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and communities. You have a Certificate IV qualification (or are willing to study) in Youth Work, Mental Health, or Community Services. You’re confident engaging with diverse stakeholders, delivering presentations, and supporting youth-led initiatives. Your communication skills, cultural knowledge, and passion for community wellbeing make you a valued team member.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must provide 100 points of identification to confirm Australian citizenship or eligibility to work in Australia; possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a current National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a valid NT driver’s licence.
Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
