Anglicare NT is a community services organisation that supports people, strengthens communities and advocates for social justice. Anglicare NT is an independent ACNC Registered Charity and only operates in the Northern Territory. Anglicare NT has operated for over 30 years.

About the Opportunity

Board Directors are responsible for providing governance oversight and strategic leadership to Anglicare NT. We are also anticipating an opportunity for a Board Chair position in the near future. The Board meets seven times per year:

  • Three full-day meetings
  • Four meetings of approximately two hours each (held on Thursdays)

Board appointments are for a three-year term, with a maximum of four consecutive terms. Board positions are currently voluntary; however Anglicare NT is in the process of implementing a Director remuneration policy.

Directors play a key role in:

  • Providing strategic direction
  • Ensuring strong governance and compliance
  • Managing organisational risk
  • Acting with care, diligence, loyalty and good faith
  • Supporting the organisation to achieve its mission and strategic goals

You will:

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring one or more of the following:

  • Alignment with the values and Statement of Faith of Anglicare NT
  • Experience within the Aged Care sector or lived experience relevant to aged care
  • Financial qualifications and expertise
  • Previous Board Chair experience or leadership capability
  • Experience living and/or working in the Northern Territory (desirable but not essential)

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must provide 100 points of identification to confirm Australian citizenship or eligibility to work in Australia; possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a current National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a valid NT driver’s licence. 

 

Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
