Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation delivering primary and clinical health care services to the Aboriginal people in Katherine and surrounding communities. Wurli prides itself on delivering a range of health and wellbeing services to the community in a style and manner that makes clients feel welcome and comfortable. Services include acute and general care, chronic disease, Women’s & Children health, men’s health, alcohol and other drugs, social and emotional wellbeing and client support services.

 

The Manager Community Services position is a Senior leadership position, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Services (Wurli). This position is responsible for the leadership, management and professional delivery of community service programs undertaken by Wurli in their endeavour to 'move forward as one, to heal our people and improve our health.

 

The role is expected to strategically manage, plan, monitor, evaluate and report on all program performance outputs and maintain effective governance with the community services portfolio.

 

The role is required to act as a management advisor to the CEO and provide input to the Management team in relation to the management of the physical, financial and human resources of the community services programs and team.

 

This leadership role is also required to manage and lead negotiations with local and federal government to obtain additional funding to extend service delivery and/ or to identify new opportunities and innovative programs to achieve Wurli's strategic goals and to act as an advocate/representative at a Management level if and as required by the CEO.

 Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Diploma in Business Management, Social Sciences, Community Services or relevant equivalent qualification
  • Previous senior leadership/ management experience
  • Psychology experience
  • Current Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children Card (NT) or the ability to satisfactorily obtain
  • Current Northern Territory Driver's License
