About the Position 

You will recruit, train and support volunteers for the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) in Tennant Creek. The development of quality and effective working relationships with volunteers and providers of residential aged-care services is a key part of the role and will require working collaboratively with other Anglicare NT services and the Tennant Creek community to maximize volunteer effort and promotion.

Position Specific Requirements

1. Ability to network, build rapport and sustain constructive working relationships with diverse stakeholders, service providers and volunteers.

2. A qualification in Community Services or relevant experience.

3. Demonstrated understanding of wellbeing and care issues for older people.

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the demonstrated ability to work independently and report accurately to a supervisor.

5. Ability and willingness to work in a diverse range of settings including but not limited to, a person’s home, community groups and other community settings.

6. Previous employment experience in volunteer coordination is desirable.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s licence.

Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
