About the Opportunity

In this role, you’ll work closely with individuals and families on low incomes to help them navigate financial challenges and build resilience. You’ll facilitate access to the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS), assist with loan applications, and support clients in developing savings goals and maintaining repayments. You’ll deliver culturally appropriate financial literacy training through both individual and group sessions, promote financial wellbeing across East Arnhem, and collaborate with a supportive team to improve services and outcomes.

To be successful you will have:

  • Knowledge of and an ability to comply with Federal, NT and Local Government legislation, regulations, permits and/or by laws.
  • Demonstrated experience working under funding contracts, operational guidelines, approved work plans, reporting requirements or task directives
  • Ability to maintain confidential client personal and organisational information in line with legislative and organisational requirements
  • Demonstrated engagement skills with a range of people and a commitment to social justice and consumer advocacy.
  • Sound written, verbal and computer skills including data systems
  • Understanding of cultural systems, and ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, their families, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations

Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
